Difference between OPC and PCC cement

 Difference between OPC and PCC cement:

You must have knowledge about this:

There are two types of cement commonly seen in the market. One is

OPC: Ordinary Portland Cement.

The other is, PCC: Portland Composite Cement.

OPC cement contains 95 percent to 100 percent clinker. And gypsum contains a maximum of 0-5 percent. PCC cement contains 65 percent to 79 percent clinker. The amount of slag, fly ash and limestone is 21 percent to 35 percent and the amount of gypsum is a maximum of 0-5 percent.

By looking at this information on the cement bag in the market, it is very easy to understand which is PCC and which is OPC cement.

OPC:

1. The full form of OPC is ordinary portland cement.

2. The amount of clinker in OPC is 95%- 100%.

3. OPC cement is used in the construction of structures in water-affected areas.

4. Initial setting time is 30 minutes and final setting time is less than 10 hours.

5. The strength of OPC Cement is 100 psi higher than PCC Cement.

PCC:

1. The full form of PCC is Portland composite cement.

2. The clinker content in PCC is 65%-79%.

3. PCC Cement is used in general structure construction.

4. Initial setting time is 30 minutes and final setting time is 10 hours.

5. The strength of PCC Cement is 100 Psi lower than OPC.

PCC and OPC cement are used in different cases based on the type of construction.

When PCC cement is good:

=========><=======

>If the overall condition of the soil is normal.

>If there are no chemical problems in the soil.

>If the concrete does not need to harden very quickly.

>If the temperature generated during casting in concrete is not taken into account.

>PCC cement is used in all types of piling, foundation, masonry, roofing and plastering in house construction.

When OPC cement is good:

=================

>In the construction of multi-storey buildings.

>In the construction of high-strength industrial structures.

>In underwater concrete work.

>In the construction of bridges, culverts and embankments.

>If various harmful substances for concrete, including sulfur, are found in the soil test

And if the concrete needs to harden very quickly, OPC cement can be used.
